Madina Lake "Attics To Eden"
It's almost impossible to discuss a new record without sounding super cliche but I'll give it a shot! For the last 2 or 3 weeks we've been back home in Chicago trying to adjust to normal life. It's weird but the saving grace is that every day from 10am to about 7pm we've been writing like crazy. This is what we love more than anything and it's pouring out. The record is tentatively called "ATTICS TO EDEN". I believe we have 7 songs fully demod and 11 more to finish up over the next few months as we secured a Sept. 1st start date to record it. We picked David Bendeth to produce it because he's worked on some amazing bands and his records always sound incredible. I've never been so excited in my life about these new songs. I should warn you ... This isn't going to sound like "From Them, Through Us, To You". It's part 2 of a 3 - record story and we've managed to tie it all together so far thematically but sonically it will be some of the heaviest, some of the weirdest and some of the more pop sounding songs to date. As we did on "FTTUTY" we've tuned out every single thing around us to write it. Honest music is our number 1 policy and we won't ever let anything from the outside world pervert that. We hope you are all amazing as usual and for those going to Download on Saturday, June 14th, we're taking some time off of writing to visit one of the coolest places on earth... And remember to party like it's the 80s again - Oh and by the way we'll be posting song titles and descriptions throughout the process starting shortly :)

Since we've been home we've had a chance to look through and divide all of the wonderful, truly spectacular gifts that you guys have given to us. You guys have brought us so much happiness, a thank you barely does our feelings justice.
Some of you guys, and we know who you are, gave us the ultra generous gift of money. You all know we're broke and couldn't care less about that... But we know how hard it is to live without money. In the future, please keep that for yourselves. We have a weird relationship with money. A friend of ours' and his brother, in Italy, were the heirs to their grandmother's 10 million dollar fortune 500 company. Our friend didn't get along at all with her, not once throughout his life did they ever make a connection and always seemed to be at odds with each other's ideals. His brother however, was extremely close to her. When the reading of the will happened, they were stunned. She had left no money whatsoever to his brother... Instead our friend got it all. Attached to the will was a note she had written by hand that read, "Money is the root of all evil."
I asked him how his brother felt about it and he said that he was shocked and upset. Then I asked him who of the two was happier with their lives today, to which is replied, "Well, I'm miserable and he's the happiest kid I know".
I think you can deduce the moral of that story... Which is entirely true by the way...
Anyhow, we feel horrible taking money from you guys... Thank you so incredibly much for it and in the future hang on to your hard earned dollar.. The 4 of us are going to enjoy a wonderful dinner after our writing session.
I guess it's not all bad... Lol
To all of you... Thank you endlessly, our tiny apartments are completey furnished with your tokens of gratitude.

(Ils remercient les fans de tous leur cadeaux, et demandent à ceux qui leur ont donné de l'argent, même si c'était très gentil, de garder leur argent pour eux à l'avenir, en s'appuyant sur une jolie petite histoire avec 2 amis à eux qui sont frères, l'un est millionnaire et malheureux, l'autre est moins riche mais très heureux. Le message dit en gros que l'argent c'est mal et que ça pervertit les gens quoi XD)
